Hello Deer...

A friend recently got her ears pierced and has started needing somewhere small to keep all her earrings so I thought I'd make her a special little dish to store them in.

For this I needed:
Heart shaped dish (I got mine from here)
Children's plastic animal (any toy shop)
Spray Paint
Super Glue

Firstly I spray painted my little deer a bright gold.  (Actually The Boyfriend helped as he got very excited when I brought home spray paint. There's just something about it isn't there?)
Once my golden deer was properly dry, we just super glued him in place and ta-da. Very simple yet very cute jewellery dish!

The thing with DIY is that it need not necessarily be hard. This took minutes (and drying time) but is far prettier than a plain dish or a ring holder dish from the local stores.

Anthology Pop Up

Durbanites, if you haven't already been there, then take a swing past Windermere Centre to explore the gorgeous new pop up shop, Anthology.

Occupying the space of the previous Food Lovers Market you'll find a light, airy, spacious pop up shop selling a collection of carefully curated items, from gorgeous 'pre-loved' clothing to inspiring art and tasty macaroons.

The vibe is relaxed yet sophisticated, the clothing old and new, the decor fresh and clean and the art is seriously cool. (I've got my eye on this flamingo piece that I'm just begging to bring home...)

The store will be open until January so be sure to swing past before it moves on.

Put a Ring on it

Up until now my rings have been all clumped in a little dish, easy to access, but not all that pretty or organised. And then today I spotted this tree, and knew it was just what my jewellery collection needed. The branches are the ideal size and spacing for rings and the tree is so perfect as we sort of have a theme of trees and nature running through our apartment ( we even have a large decal on our bedroom wall of a tree and birds which I'll show another time)

How do you store your jewellery? I believe the right display is so important. I have a very strong problem with 'out of sight, out of mind', and if I cannot see what earrings, necklaces and rings I have I may tend to forget about them...
