Pink & Black

Top - Woolies, Skirt - Mr Price, Shoes - Queue Shoes
Just a little outfit post from what I wore to dinner last night...

I am too excited because The Boyfriend and I leave for our snowboarding holiday this Friday. Quite frankly I can't concentrate on anything else other than trying to remain calm and not explode with eagerness.
Deep breaths. Yay.

Milk & Cookies

This morning while The Boyfriend was out surfing I felt like baking, and was also really in the mood for peanut butter, so the obvious choice was these tasty peanut butter cookies.
They take just a few minutes to whip up and are pretty delicious.

Peanut Butter Cookies

Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon vanilla essence
1 1/4 cups sifted flour
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt

Directions:
Preheat oven to 180ยบ.
Mix butter, peanut butter, sugars, egg and vanilla essence (first 6 ingredients)
Add the rest of the ingredients and mix well.
Roll into balls and press down with a fork dipped in sugar.
Bake for 10-12 minute.
Ovens do vary so your baking time may be less. Just keep an eye on them.

This batch made exactly 30, which is a great number of cookies if you ask me. Any more and they tend to go stale (or us go fat!), but 30 is enough to share with a few friends but not get sick of them!

Give them a try. You won't regret it.

Milk and cookies. Perfect.

I love having a full cookie jar at home!

Wine on the Wharf

If you saw my last post you'll know Dane and I are exploring and holidaying in our hometown of Durban.

For dinner this weekend we headed to the wharf for oysters and wine. Unfortunately they were all out of oysters (sob!) but a seafood platter made up for it for sure!

Plus it just gives us an excuse to go back for oysters another day...

(Excuse the terribly cheesy grin.)

Bag - A Gift from Dane, Top - Pick 'n Pay (can you handle?), Cardi - knicked out my Mother's cupboard, Jeans - Mr Price, Shoes - Sissy Boy (also a gift from Dane)

Holidaying in my Hometown

This year over the festive season Dane and I chose not to escape to a beachy paradise like we usually do, as we are off to Italy in a few weeks, so instead we took to holidaying at home.

Durban is such a beautiful city and a massive tourist destination over December so we took advantage and played tourists!

One such adventure was hiring bikes and riding them along the beachfront... Exercise and fun!

Having just hired bikes at the Stadium - Dane being extreme?
Riding with friends on a sunny day... bliss.

The stadium where we rode from  is the little white mark on the far right after all the buildings...

Dane insisting that the bike must be in the picture...ha.

STS Sports at Moses Mabhida stadium hires bikes for R40 an hour so for R80 you can ride all the way to uShaka, maybe break for lunch and a ice cold beer, and then cruise back...

Such a great way to be outdoors and active!
